Happy New Year everyone and like always a new edition of Retro Corner is available. On this edition, we take a look at a retro Star Wars title for the N64 that's based on a book called Shadows of the Empire. Back in 1996, the Nintendo 64 along with Mario 64, Killer Instinct Gold and other titles got released just in time for the holiday season. During the launch window was a Star Wars game called Shadows of the Empire that took place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Of course, this was a time where Star Wars was something special before the dark times before the Mouse Empire took over. The story is about a mercenary called Dash Rendar, who helps the Rebel against the Empire during their battles. However, he learns of a conspiracy in the Empire from an alien prince and crime leader of the Black Sun known as Xizor. The alien prince plans to oust Darth Vader from his imperial command and has to kill Luke Skywalker so he can take his place at the Emperor's side. Aside Mario 64, Shadows showcased the potential a realistic adventure game in 3D had during the time. Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire Review
