A new edition of Horror Gaming is up, and we take a look at a Mega Man Creepypasta. Similar to Mario and Sonic, the Mega Man CPs are notorious for being among the worst ones written. I have yet to come across a good story from the Blue Bomber. The reason these are usually terrible is because they are riddled with many clichés and logic gaps. It's obvious Sonic.EXE started a terrible trend nearly a decade ago as many others would try to emulate its bad writing. Even a few Pokemon CPs were guilty of this in many ways since usually that series produces good results. All you have to do is look at Blood Edition or my recently reviewed Forgotten Yellow article to get the gist of how bad these creepypastas are. It's already bad enough that they decided to write a Sonic.EXE 2 when the story never needed one.
Now, when the Blue Bomber has a CP, Mega Man 2 or the X games are the “go to” as the bases of a plot. The reason these games are used as the premises for the plot is because they are widely known. Even though MM2 is vastly overrated, it's still considered a classic and a favorite among Golden Age gamers. That is the reason no one really talks about the Original game; despite the issues it has; this might also be the contributing factor. The plot is about a guy recalling a time in the late 90s where he played all the Mega Man titles except for the first one. After purchasing MM1 at his local game store, weird stuff happens during his play through with the strange robotic blob of the Yellow Devil. Is this some weird rom hack put together by a creepy programmer? Or something worse beyond the capabilities of a person? The Yellow Devil Creepypasta Review
