A new edition of Alicorn Reviews is up as I tackle another episodic special called Forgotten Friendship. I honestly was not expecting one of the EQG books called "A Friendship to Remember" to get a TV episode adaptation. Sure I have heard of this novel about a year ago but I mostly never read official non-canon material. I'm pretty sure the books just like the IDW comics are not canon either as there are many instances that contradicts the canon source. I used to think that IDW comics and the books from the entire Gen 4 were all tied to the main shows in some form. However, this episode proved this to not be the case for EQG and I even found the same results for FIM. Unless DHX retcons or turns these comics and the novels into a movie/episodic specials is the only way it will become canon to the main shows. The theme is about Sunset discovering that the HuMane Six have suddenly forgotten her and only remember the mare for the bad things she did in the past. In one day she was their best friend to all of a sudden they hate her once again. After looking through Applejacks' memories, Sunset realizes that any good things she did have gotten erased from their minds. Sunset immediately suspects that someone is using Equestrian magic so our favorite mare tries to find out who might be causing this against her. I'll admit that the premises of the novel was a lot better than I gave it credit for at the time as I dismissed this at first. After looking through the previews I became interested in it and this episode had a couple of surprises I wasn't expecting to happen at all. My Little Pony: Forgotten Friendship Review

A new edition of Alicorn Reviews is up as I will check out the second 2017 special called Movie Magic. The world of EQG expands further as we're introduced to the human counterpart of Daring Do and the movie studio lot. Movie Magic is the classic Scooby Doo hi-jinks episode where the HuMane Seven try to solve a mystery about the relic props disappearances. Three new characters of Canter Zoom, Juniper Montage, and Chestnut Magnifico make their debut who apart of the movie studio lot. If anything thing these specials are actually helping EQG world build as for the last year there was a map that shows many places around this world.
My Little Pony: Movie Magic Review A new Equestrian Blog is up and I wanted to take a brief break from Gen 4 to ask a question most don't ask. Whatever happened to Generation II? It's just topic I rarely see anyone throw around like it never existed. It does seem like a strange case considering MLP was popular in the 80s compared to the 90s. Gen II is diffidently an anomaly but what is it about this era that has me want to discuss it? Well in this editorial I will go over what potentially might be the reason it was an unsuccessful gen.
Why was Generation II Skipped by Hasbro? A new edition of Alicorn Reviews is available as I will tackle the Dance Magic episode from Equestria Girls. There was news of a new EQG episode airing next month and will be a cartoon adaptation of "A Friendship to Remember". The episode will actually be a 45-minute special and will air on Discovery Family on February 17th. Until its release, I wanted to do a three-part review on the 22-minute specials that aired last summer. What I always loved about these specials is the potential the series could've had if Hasbro made EQG a TV show. The theme of Dance Magic is about the HuMane Seven trying to raise money to help repair Camp Everfree. However, Rarity seeing as they are not making money fast enough before the dead line asks girls to leave it to her. As she realizes how difficult the task is while at the Canterlot Mall, she hears of a dance contest and enters. Rarity while signing up also runs into the Shadow Bolts as they too are entering the contest. My Little Pony: Dance Magic Review A new edition of Alicorn Reviews is up as I take a look at the fourth Equestria Girls film. The location of the Everfree Forest was a perfect setting for the story since it wasn't a high school theme for once. After the students of CHS raised enough funds so they can attend Camp Everfree, everything doesn't seem so ordinary upon arriving. A tale by Timber Spruce (one of the counselors) tells of a forest spirit named Gaia Everfree, who was said to have haunted the grounds since his and Gloriosa Daisy's ancestors settled in the area. Suddenly, strange things start happening around the camp site causing the girls to think something magical was causing them to have magic bursts of newfound powers. So what mystery and high jinks await the HuMane Seven this time?
My Little Pony: Legend of the Everfree Review Something I wasn't expecting to be produced by a actual studio. D'Lirium is an action adventure game about ponies in horror theme story. This is not a fan MLP game or some flash crap based on PONY.EXE but an official developed game. I'm still surprised that there is an official horror game based on ponies, I mean this looks it came out of an original gaming Creepypasta. D'Lirium Review I am debuting a new segment called The Equestrian Blog, a section where I will talk about topics related to MLP. For the first edition titled "Is the New Equestria Girls Series a bust?" I discuss my slight frustration about why the spinoff isn't getting a better seasonal format.
Is The New Equestria Girls Series a Bust? Just a couple of days left until the new YouTube series starts for Equestria Girls. As we wait, I have a review of Friendship Games posted already and it continues from Rainbow Rocks a few months later. The girls head into a competition with CHS's rival school called Crystal Prep and face not only the Shadow Bolts but this world's Twilight.
My Little Pony: Friendship Games Review We are a week away from the YouTube series and to pass the time a review of Rainbow Rocks is available. Rainbow Rocks is considered to be the best Equestria Girls movie/episode because of its major improvements from the original. The story takes place several months later as Sunset goes through her redemption as the HuMane Six face the Dazzlings.
My Little Pony: Rainbow Rocks Review As the Halloween season is over we enter November for Thanksgiving and a new series of Equestria Girls. Hasbro announced recently that Equestria Girls will be getting its own YouTube series. It was about time they did this as the series was begging to be made into a weekly episodic format. The first Equestria Girls movie review is up in Pony Central to honor and anticipate the show starting November 17th.
